The Memoir: Purl

I am happy to return to The Memoir, this time with my most ancient of aliases. I have previously appeared in the series with Illuvia (p. 158) and under my given name (p. 27) – the latter included music from several guises that appeared during my first decade in music, most of which have long since been laid to rest.

In the northern hemisphere it is now winter, though I don’t really notice it here so close to the equator. However, for creating this biography of Purl I tuned in to cherished memories of deep winter: the stillness, the crisp cold, and the blinding radiance of sun raining down on fields of snow. That is where it begins, with “Sprickor Av Ljus”, but somewhere along the path we fall into a portal and I am not sure where we end up…

When you have a discography as deep as Purl’s, the challenge is selecting what pieces to include. I wanted to include more of the collaborations that have enriched Purl’s journey, but I’ll need a few more pages to fit all the moods. This one includes cherished co-creations between Purl and Ayaavaaki, Daniel[i] and Klara.
